Titanic’s And Lifeboat’s

Jonathan Cahn 90x115by Jonathan Cahn

The Titanic was called the unsinkable ship. It was almost a world unto itself- luxurious, ornate, elegant, and majestic. The idea of it sinking was so unthinkable that they didn’t even provide enough lifeboats for the passengers. And then the unthinkable happened.

In the same way, this life is like the Titanic. We can get so captivated by its glitter that we don’t consider its end. No matter who you are, everything about the flesh is just a sinking ship. If you have any doubt about it, just attend a funeral. Therefore, if you know you’re on a sinking ship, what do you do? You get your eyes off the ship and off of its details. You get your life into the lifeboat. Scripture says that the way of the flesh is death, but the way of the Spirit is life. Salvation is the lifeboat of this life. And you dwell in it by living it in the Spirit. The flesh is sinking, so abandon the sinking ship and get aboard the Spirit. Live by the Spirit of God, and when the ship goes down, you’ll still be floating.

Today’s Mission – Today, evaluate your life. Abandon any area in which you are living in or relying on the flesh… Leave the flesh… Walk in the Spirit.

What Makes A Ship Unsinkable

Jonathan Cahnby Jonathan Cahn

An American preacher visiting Belfast was scheduled to preach in the church which had lost 16 of its members on the unsinkable ship, the Titanic. It was a week after the tragedy. The church was filled with lords, bishops and ministers of all denominations. The audience was filled with newly made widows and orphans sobbing all around. The sermon was called “The Unsinkable Ship”. It wasn’t about the Titanic. It was about a much smaller, much frailer and much more humble ship that sailed the Sea of Galilee two thousand years before.

It was unsinkable, not because of its construction, but because Messiah was in it. Messiah is the Lord of land and sea. He’s the master of storms and He’s the calmer of raging waves. In this life, we sail many vessels of career, success, popularity, health, youth, and money. Some of these vessels look strong, solid, rich, and glorious, but all these vessels ultimately sink. A life that’s built instead on the presence of the Rabbi from Nazareth is the ship that will never sink. That life will make it through every storm. That’s the unsinkable ship.

Today’s Mission – In any distress, trouble, fear, or anxiety today, comfort your soul with the knowledge that you’re not going to sink. Messiah is in your boat!
