The Master Will Judge

Oswald Chambers 90x115by Oswald Chambers

We must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ . . . —2 Corinthians 5:10

Paul says that we must all, preachers and other people alike, “appear before the judgment seat of Christ.” But if you will learn here and now to live under the scrutiny of Christ’s pure light, your final judgment will bring you only delight in seeing the work God has done in you. Live constantly reminding yourself of the judgment seat of Christ, and walk in the knowledge of the holiness He has given you. Tolerating a wrong attitude toward another person causes you to follow the spirit of the devil, no matter how saintly you are. One carnal judgment of another person only serves the purposes of hell in you.

Discerning, Not Condemning

Greg Laurie 90x115by Greg Laurie

“Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church.”

—Ephesians 4:15

It seems as though every nonbeliever knows Matthew 7:1: “Do not judge others, and you will not be judged.” Generally, it goes something like this: The Christian approaches a compromising Christian or a nonbeliever and talks about his or her need for Christ. At some point, the Christian will say that a certain thing is a sin. The other person will respond, “Who are you to judge me? Doesn’t the Bible itself say, ‘Judge not, lest you be judged’? ”
