Look unto Him

A.B. Simpsonby A.B. Simpson

We would see Jesus —John 12:21

Glory to Jesus for all the things laid up for us in the days to come. Glory to Him for all the visions of service in the future, the opportunities of doing good that are far away as well as close at hand.

Our Savior was able to despise the cross for the joy that was before Him. Let us look up to Him, and rise up to Him until we reach the peak and are able to look out from the mount of vision over all the distant land. Not a single thing will come to us in all the future in which we may not be able to see the King in His beauty. Let us be very sure that we look at nothing else. Our pupils will then become so impressed as they look at this vision that they will not be able to reflect anything else.

My small son came to ‘ me once and said, “Papa, look for a long time at that golden sign across the street. Now look at that brick wall and tell me what you see.”

Why, I see the yellow sign on the brick wall,” I replied. And he laughed merrily over it.

So, if we look a long time upon Jesus we cannot look at anything else without seeing a reflection of Him. Everything which we behold will become a part of Him.

Unclouding The Glory

Jonathan Cahnby Jonathan Cahn

In the days of the Temple, the glory of God appeared in the Holy of Holies. The high priest was allowed to enter the sacred chamber only once a year. He was instructed to burn incense that created a cloud because God’s Glory was too great to behold. The Anon Ha-Ketoret; the cloud of incense was part of the sacred instructions God gave to Israel. But in the New Covenant, with the blood of Messiah, we are to enter the Holy place with no cloud. And yet many believers tend to make their own cloud. They cloud up His Word with compromise. They blur the lines of what it clearly says. They say “you can’t really take it literally,” “it’s not for today,” or “it’s not for me.” Could that be you? The problem with living in this cloud is that you’ll never fully experience the glorious life He has for you. When you cloud His Word, your entire life becomes cloudy and without glory. In order to live a life that’s glorious, take God at His Word. Go all out with it, and you will live a glorious life with no clouds in sight.

Today’s Mission – Today, ask the Lord to clear away any cloudy area in your heart and life. And take the Word of God clearly, absolutely, and at full strength.
