The Holiness Of Will

Jonathan Cahnby Jonathan Cahn

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. Deuteronomy 6:5

Deuteronomy 6:5 instructs us to love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength. Therefore, does following God mean just going along with the flow? Yes and no. There’s the flow of God’s Spirit, and there’s the flow of the world. In order to serve God, you have to choose the flow of His Spirit and choose against the flow of the world. It requires a choice of your heart, soul, mind, and strength. It requires choice, determination, decision and will – and it’s all of the Spirit.

Many believers spend their whole lives trying to find the will of God. But your life is not just about finding the will of God. It’s about obeying the will of God. In other words, willing the will of God. Do you want the will of God in your life? Then choose the will of God. Be willing to obey. Agree, decide, and will to do the will of God, no matter what the situation. Then the will of God will be done in your life on earth as it is in heaven.

Today’s Mission – Today, choose, obey, agree, and decide to do the will of God no matter what the situation.

Luke 11:10 says, “He who seeks finds.” Many believers take that as meaning whatever we seek for, we are going to get. The problem is we may seek for something and then not find the exact thing we sought. Notice what it doesn’t say.

It doesn’t say, “Whatever you seek you are going to find.” It says, “If you seek, you will find.” But seek what? Find what? It doesn’t mean it’s going to be the same thing you think you wanted or needed to have, but it is going to be what you need from God. It will be better. It’s going to meet the real need. He’ll give you His best. It may not be the “it” that you sought to find, but you’re going to find something good, because it’s from God. Be open to what God has for your life–not necessarily what you think you require, but something better, because He will give you His best in all things. You will find, but do one thing – seek.

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33
