According to a report by the Telegraph, a Christian street preacher in the United Kingdom, Dale McAlpine, was arrested by a “homosexual police community support officer” because McAlpine was “reciting a number of “sins” referred to in the Bible, including blasphemy, drunkenness and same sex relationships”, which is apparently grounds for arrest under a law referred to as the “Public Order Act”.
According to the report, the Public Order Act was introduced in 1986 to deal with “violent rioters” and “football hooligans”, but today? It is being used to combat religious free speech as seen in this incident. Alarming? Yes, but this is the world we live in.
